Proper Use of Your Brew City Kit
- To deploy and extend the telescoping pole, first pull some transducer cable through the Cable Management Clips. Loosen the Pole Clamp and extend the pole. The pole can extend from 48" to 72". There is a mark on the pole that indicates 60". Extend pole to desired length and tighten the Pole Clamp. Adjust the transducer cable by pulling it through the Cable Management Clips, leaving some slack in cable to allow the pole to rotate.
- To loosen the ratcheting handle on the base, pull the pin out. Swivel the telescoping pole to the vertical position and tighten handle on base. This handle is ratcheting, pull up on the handle and swivel it to a new position and tighten. Always tighten the ratcheting handle on the base when deployed.
- On the 14" Cross Shaft Assembly, loosen the ratcheting handle and slide the pole down to the depth collar. The ratcheting handle can be tightened to adjust tension on the pole for rotation.
- To stow, loosen the ratcheting handle on the base and swivel the pole to the horizontal position. Install pin, take the pressure of the pin and tighten the ratcheting handle on the base to secure the pole.
- Loosen the ratcheting handle on the Cross Shaft and raise the pole to within a few inches of the Cable Management Clip. Tighten the ratcheting handle on the Cross Shaft to secure the pole. Both ratcheting handles need to be tightened when stowed.
- To retract the pole, loosen the Pole Clamp, slide pole up and re-tighten the Pole Clamp. Adjust transducer cable by pulling the transducer cable through the Cable Management Clips.
How To Assemble Your Brew City Kit
-
Step 1
Slide the 14" Cross Shaft Assembly onto the telescoping pole. Slide the Cross Shaft Assembly down 6" - 8" and tighten the Ratcheting Handle on the Cross Shaft Assembly.
-
Step 2
Slide the Depth Collar onto the telescoping pole. It is recommended to position the collar while on the water, set the depth to your personal preference, a 5/32" Allen wrench is needed.
-
Step 3
Attach the arrow indicator with Tilt Handle Assembly to the top of the pole.
-
Step 4
Align the hole on the top of the telescoping pole with the hole in the arrow indicator. use the 1/4-20" x 1.75" Allen Bolt to attach the arrow indicator. Thread the nylon locknut onto the bolt and tighten with a 3/16" Allen wrench and 7/16" wrench or socket, use only hand tools, no drill drivers.

Step 5
Mount your transducer to the telescoping pole. Depending on the brand of transducer you have, it can be either clamped, pinned or bolted to the Brew City transducer adapter. The Brew City transducer adapter is pinned for easy removal. Align the front of the transducer to point in the same direction as the arrow indicator. If clamping the transducer to the pole, the transducer should orientate so it is on the outside of the pole when facing forward.
-
Step 6
Install transducer cable into the Brew City Cable Management Clips. Pull back on the top of the clip to install the cable, There are two clips on the telescoping pole and one on the Cross Shaft. Install the transducer cable into all the clips, this is required for proper cable care. The cable can slide through each clips to easily extend or retract the Brew City pole. The Cable Management Clips have been installed in the recommended position. To move or tighten a clips, you will need to use a #1 Phillips screwdriver.

Mounting Notes
Rail Mounting: If the rail is 7/8" you will need to slide the plastic sleeve on the rail to mount the base. If the rail is 1" you will mount the base directly on the rail. Use the 1.25" Allen screws with a 3/16" Allen wrench, making sure to tighten each screw, alternating between them, until fully tight.
If using other mounting options, the appropriate sized Allen screws are provided, making sure to tighten each screw, alternating between them, until fully tight.
-
Step 8
Slide the Cross Shaft into the base making sure the telescoping pole clears the side of the boat while the pole rotates between the stowed and deployed positions. Align the safety pin with a hole in the Cross Shaft, slide the Plastic Collar on the Cross Shaft tight to the base. use a 5/32" Allen wrench to tighten the Allen screw in the collar.
